Considered one of America’s best boardwalks, the 2.9-mile Ocean City Boardwalk stretches from the Inlet in South Ocean City to 27th Street. It sits along Ocean City Beach, bordering the crystal clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. This award-winning and popular family walk has plenty to do and places to see.

The Jolly Rodger Amusement Park offers fun activities concentrated in one place and is suitable for families with children. Things visitors do here include go-karting, water slides, roller coasters and carousels, mini golf, and kids can ride the kiddie pirate ship. The park has an events calendar to inform visitors of tour days and available activities. Trimper Rides, also in Ocean City, offers similar rides; events like birthdays are held here, and sweets and chocolate are available.

6 To visit museums

There are several museums within the grounds of Ocean City Boardwalk, but the one that is there is the Ocean City Lifeboat Station Museum, located at the entrance. Built in 1891, the museum was a shipwreck rescue and maritime disaster prevention facility on the shoals. The museum also preserves the history of Worcester County. Exhibits at this museum include sands from around the world, a collection of Ocean City videos dating back to 1933, a daily logbook dating from 1878-1880, and equipment used in rescue missions from 1878-1914. from the museum are $5 for adults and $3 for children, and free for children under 11. You can go rollerblading, biking and jogging on the boardwalk. Ocean City also has miniature golf courses where children can play. There are also parks and playgrounds where visitors can play sports like basketball, tennis, volleyball, racquetball, pickleball, and jogging. Ocean City Recreation and Parks also hosts children’s camps that offer different sports and arts programs.

2 Ride a horse

In winter and early spring, the state of Maryland allows horseback riding on the beach and nearby scenic trails. There are no horses for rent, so visitors bringing their own horses to the beach must first complete an application at the Town Clerk’s Office at City Hall or upload it online at www. oceancitymd.gov. A day permit costs $20 and a seasonal permit costs $50. Alternatively, visitors can contact Holly Ridge Farm Equestrian Center, just minutes from Ocean City, which offers horseback riding on the wildlife preserve’s nature trails and the tranquil, crystal-clear waters of the Pocomoke River.

Ocean City Boardwalk offers many fun family-friendly activities. Vacationing families can have tug-of-war, running and sandcastle competitions on the beach. Yard games like spikeball, ladder ball and corn hole and movies are also available on the beach. Snacks like sundaes are available at Northside Park, where bands also play live music while families relax and picnic there.
