Membership for the new season is now being collected and new members are especially welcome to register. A number of ladies have expressed interest in joining us and the committee would be delighted to increase the number of ladies especially this winter. Renovations to the play and viewing areas are complete and new showers and toilets are nearing completion.

Ballycullane Tidy Towns hold their annual trade show on Sunday 6th November from 10am to 4pm. Craft vendors are invited to reserve their table now. If you would like to donate your unwanted treasures to the bring and buy section, that would be welcome. There will also be a raffle and tea parties. Tintern Review

The annual parish publication is now on store shelves and is great value at just €8. It is on sale at the post office and in shops in the parish and some shops in neighboring parishes.

This year’s content includes stories about a popular Boley man who turned 100, the origins of the Gusserane Church belfry, the story of a man who came back from the dead , a farewell to a school principal from Gusserane as well as roundups of various organizations throughout the parish, from sports to plowing and rowing.

Family cooking class

South West Wexford Family Resource Center is hosting a FREE 3 week ‘parent and child’ cooking class on Mondays 14th, 21st and 28th November at Ramsgrange Community School.

Classes will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is a course for parents with a child, and topics will include cooking skills, healthy shopping, budgeting and meal planning, and preventing food waste. All ingredients and equipment will be provided. Places are limited, so please call 051 389418 to reserve your place

Christmas shoebox call

The annual Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal returns to SWWFRC this year. These shoeboxes filled with gifts are sent to vulnerable children in Eastern Europe and Africa. It is often the only gift these children will receive and the joy it brings is incredible. SWWFRC is a drop-off point for your filled gift boxes until November 8 inclusive. Community Café at SWWFRC

Our Community Cafe is now open to the public Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sandwiches, soup, scones and a variety of snacks are available at very reasonable prices. Tourism with Business Courses

The Tourism with Business LTI course at SWWFRC, Ramsgrange has been very busy this week. In the Client Services module, learners compile their portfolios and complete assignments. They also learn how commercial imagery and marketing impact the customer experience. In the Principle and Practices of Tourism module, learners explored how Irish history, geography and culture attract tourists to Ireland. As we have learners from other countries on the course it was great to give them a crash course in all things Irish while learning about their cultures. Learners also did some more art therapy on Thursday morning and you’ll be able to see our creations in person in the weeks to come!

Youth Fusion Cafe

SWWFRC’s Fusion Youth Café is open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-6pm. Tuesday afternoons are suitable for students in grades 1 to 3 and Wednesdays for transition students, 4th, 5th and 6th grades. It’s a chance to meet your friends, play games and try lots of fun activities. We have a small shop with a limited variety of snacks available and as always new members are always welcome.

Did you know that here at SWWFRC we have a number of rooms for hire, to suit both large and small groups? We also provide a remote work center, which offers an affordable, modern and versatile workspace for small businesses and individuals. Administrator on site. support is available, with Wi-Fi access, interactive screens, tablets and laptops. Teas/coffees and light refreshments can also be provided

Parents and toddlers group

There’s a lot going on in the Parents and Toddlers group this month. On Tuesday 8th November we will be organizing a buggy ride to Tintern Abbey. On Tuesday November 15th we will have someone to talk about reflexology and how it could help your baby. Tuesday the 22nd will be the usual game day and we will end the month with another buggy ride in Tintern. The group meets on Tuesdays from 10am to 12pm, there is a €3 entrance fee and refreshments are provided. New members are always welcome

St. Louis Daycare

Don’t forget that you can have all your Christmas baking done at the St. Louis Day Care Center. They are now taking orders for mince pies, Christmas puddings and Christmas cakes. The last day for orders is Monday, December 12. For more information or to order please call 051 389509

St. James GAA

We would like to thank everyone for their support of the Junior B football team and everyone who traveled to Bree on Friday night for the county final. We had a great turnout for the all-vehicle road race on Sunday and once again thank you to everyone who came out.

The Club Lotto draw will take place on Tuesday November 1 at Taghmon Camross, so make sure you have your ticket as the jackpot is €14,000.

Active retirement group

Our next meeting will be on Monday 7th November at the South West Wexford Family Resource Center at 2pm. Due to the recent outbreak of Covid-19 among members, we advise you to wear a mask at the meeting for your own safety and that of others. New members are always welcome. Just come and meet us and decide if you want to join us. The Hits from the Musicals outing will take place on November 2 with pickup from Ramsgrange at 6.15pm and Wellingtonbridge at 6.30pm. We have a full coach for this trip, so if you cannot go, please find another to take your place.

We can confirm that there will be a Byrnes Christmas Party at Ballyhack on the 12th December from 2-6.30pm with Mick Comerford playing music for us. That should be something to look forward to. The cost for members is €15. Contact Kelly on 087 6372084 for more information
