Bulldogs post strong outing at UMass Lowell

LOWELL, Mass .– Several public relations have been set for the Bryant University men’s and women’s track team after competing in the George Davis Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell on Saturday.

American International, Assumption, Bentley, Keene State, Maine, Merrimack, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Providence (M), Rhode Island, SNHU (F), Southern Maine and UMass Lowell all competed against the Bulldogs. No team score has been assigned.


  • Freshman William Remkiewicz led in the 400m with a time of 48.88. Every event Remkiewicz has competed in so far this season has resulted in a top spot as he has racked up four in total, with two top spots in the 400m.
  • Junior Jason Dolan finished first overall in the 800m with a time of 1: 52.0.
  • The Hickey twins both set personal bests in the 1500m. Nolan Hickey led in ninth with a PR of 4: 04.97 followed by Aidan Hickey in 13e with a time of 4: 10.17.
  • Freshman Nicholas Mirecki made his college debut in the pole vault with a mark of 4.20m. Mirecki was seventh overall and now sits eighth all-time to Bryant.
  • In action on the pitch, senior Nick Alessandro and rookie Emmett Ruote finished in the top 5 in the javelin. Alessandro scored 58.45m and finished third, while Ruote threw 57.37m and finished fifth.
  • Senior Brett Cloutier was fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.62m.


  • Junior Nicole Xiarhos led the Black and Gold in the 200m. Xiarhos finished first overall, scoring his second first place this season in this event. The junior posted a time of 25.91.
  • In the 1500m, Sarah Freeman posted a PR of 4: 50.84 as she led Bryant with a seventh place finish. Senior Kierstin Lock also set a new personal best in the 1500m with a time of 5: 29.81 which was good for 16e.
  • Rookie Grace Sullivan set a PR of 10: 54.96 in the 3000m and finished in the top 10 in ninth out of 22 runners. But it was Julia Ayres who led the Bulldogs to fourth with a time of 10: 33.12, followed by Abby Hamilton in eighth with a time of 10: 52.03.
  • Freshman Shelby DeGrenier carved his name in Bryant’s 400m hurdles record book. Degrenier was tenth with a time of 1: 13.80, which ranks seventh all-time.
  • The 4×100 relay team of Xiarhos, Jasmine Hope, Christina Capozzi and Ana Bertarelli rank fifth all-time at Bryant with a time of 49.59 for a third place overall at UMass Lowell
  • Senior Camryn Wesoloskie posted a triple jump PR with a score of 10.21m. The mark was good for a tenth place and Wesoloskie improves to eighth place all-time to Bryant.
  • Julia Mechlinski improved to ninth all-time to Bryant in the javelin with a mark of 28.64m. Mechlinski finished eighth overall followed by Emily Masera who finished 12the with a mark of 23.36 m.
