Even though the Cubbies got a win, that’s not what many fans are talking about. After Round 7, Twitter exploded with comments about the Harry Caray hologram and it wasn’t with praise.

And one last to summarize the essence of the Tweets on this subject.

FOUR THINGS FOX DOES WELL WITH HARRY CARAY HOLOGRAM

To set social media on fire, I found four things about FOX’s Harry Caray hologram worth mentioning.

1. FOX threw this image to viewers almost immediately, answering many fans’ questions about how they’re going to blast this segment of the game.

2. FOX opted out of including Harry Caray half in the bag with an ice-cold Budweiser in his hand while singing, mouthing and presumably spilling beer on fans under the stand.

3. FOX hired the right production team because within seconds of the first close-up, Harry’s hologram was considerably far away in the camera shots. That’s probably when someone in the production truck yelled, “What the hell is #$%&?! Switch cameras before it gets worse!”

4. Although it was a home game for the Cincinnati Reds, FOX threw two majors in the air and decided to do something with the Cubbies. Kudos to them for that because, seriously, who likes the Reds?

Note: I was equally uneasy when I saw the back of this hologram. It reminded me of the actor playing George Steinbrenner in Seinfeld. Weird.
