Ready to go out after a long winter staring at your computer screen all day? Same. Warmer days are coming (hopefully) so now is a great time to get moving and join a Birmingham sports league. Check out Birmingham’s 9 sports leagues and take away matches to get moving this spring.
Flag football is coming to the 2022 World Games at Legion Field, but why leave it to the pros? Enter an adult flag football team for the Hoover League and get ready for a fun spring season. The $ 400 cash-only fee and team registration form are expected at the Hoover Met by Thursday, February 25.

3. Birmingham GO Kickball
Kick off spring by joining a fun kickball team. Registration for GO Kickball is open until March 19 and the spring season begins March 31. Even if your athletic abilities are similar to mine (and nonexistent), you will still have a great time. Join with a group or draw a “free agent” to be placed in a team.

4. Open play pickleball
Looking for a fun way to spend your weekends getting you in trouble? Try pickleball at the pickleball open to members of the Levite Jewish Community Center. All you will need is 2 or 4 players, some gear, and a bit of practice before you become a pro. Register now to book the gym.

5. Birmingham YMCA Pickleball
With 8 YMCA locations offering pickleball, you have plenty of options to start your future pickleball career. The program has limited availability, so contact your branch for times.
6. Disc Golf Birmingham is a fun sports Birmingham league
Looking for a fun hole-in-one moment? Try disc golf in Birmingham. Disc Golf Birmingham is a disc golf group that hosts the Trussville League until March 6 and pickup matches most weekends. Membership request their Facebook group to keep up with their schedule.

7. YMCA Racquetball
Playing racquetball is a great way to increase your heart rate while having fun. 4 Birmingham YMCA locations have racquetball courts, so contact your local YMCA for court availability. If you are looking for Birmingham sports leagues but your schedule is changing, try playing racquetball with a friend.
8. Birmingham futsal is one of the best sports leagues in Birmingham to try
If you’ve never heard of futsal, you’ll want to try the sport. Futsal is a football match played on an indoor pitch with 2 teams of five. Birmingham Futsal has an adult league in the summer, but you can get your fix of futsal with pickup matches throughout the year. Make sure you follow their facebook to see when they will have a match and reserve your spot.
9. Hockey picked up
You don’t need to escape the cold even when it heats up in Birmingham thanks to the Pelham Civic Complex adult hockey pickup on Sunday night. Register in advance for an hour on the ice with two teams of 10 players and a goalie each.
