Nick Kyrgios writes emotional note to girlfriend Costen Hatzi amid turbulent year

After what has been a year of ups and downs for Nick Kyrgios, the Australian tennis star penned a heartfelt note to his girlfriend Costen Hatzi on Thursday.

Hatzi, an Australian blogger and influencer, has been dating Kyrgios for several months. The enigmatic Kyrgios wrote a tribute to him on Instagram.

“Dear Coz, what a trip we’ve been on already,” Kyrgios wrote. “Honestly, my life has never been the same since I met you, you continue to make me smile and be everything I need in tough times.

“There will always be difficulties in life and I just want to go through the ups and downs with you. We explore the world and continue to experience all the craziness that exists, but this is just a little reminder that I love you and that you are my best friend 🖤”

It was an anything but boring US Open earlier this month for Kyrgios, 27, who knocked out betting favorite and world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev en route to reaching the quarter-finals at Flushing Meadows before losing to Karen Khachanov and throwing a big, racket-destroying anger after the defeat.

Hatzi was in Kyrgios’ box the entire roller coaster ride. It’s a place unlike any other in tennis, given its propensity to direct blasts at its own box for not supporting it enough. Nonetheless, Hatzi celebrated her boyfriend after his loss to Khachanov.

“What an amazing season @k1ngkyrg1os,” Hatzi wrote on his Instagram Story after the loss. “You have made everyone proud. I love you so much.”

Off the pitch, Kyrgios is awaiting the outcome of his former girlfriend Chiara Passari’s domestic violence charges, which date back to December 2021. He is due in court in Australia next month.
