University Recreation will offer a free one-week pass to its facilities

University Recreation invites all current university faculty and staff to come and experience what UREC has to offer this summer! A free one-week facility pass will be given to those who wish to visit all of UREC’s facilities: HPER Building, UREC Fitness Center in the Arkansas Union, Sports Complex of UREC or UREC tennis center.

To redeem your free week pass, please complete this Qualtrics online form. Passes can be used Monday through Sunday, June 20 through June 26, during business hours.

UREC’s main office hours for summer 2022 are:

  • Monday to Thursday: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday: Closed

The University Recreation Department‘s primary facility is the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Building at 155 N. Stadium Dr. Highlights include the Donna Axum Fitness Center, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, four basketball courts, an indoor track, group fitness studios, functional training areas, bike studio, racquetball courts, bouldering and climbing walls, UREC Outdoors, and locker rooms and showers.

The UREC Fitness Center, conveniently located in the middle of the U of A campus on the second floor of the Arkansas Union, has nearly 6,000 square feet of floor space for the gym and locker rooms and fully equipped showers for men and women.

The UREC Sports Complex, located at 1486 Mitchell Street, offers a club sports surface for competition and practice, four intramural playing surfaces and two sand volleyball courts. It is recommended that participants bring their own equipment with them, but items of equipment such as footballs, soccer balls, sand volleyballs, Frisbees, etc. are available at checkout at the service center inside the resort.

The UREC Tennis Center is located at 1357 W. Indian Trail, east of Razorback Road and behind the Chick-Fil-A on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The UREC Tennis Center includes 12 tennis courts, including four courts with boards to allow individual play, and a service facility that includes an equipment checkout center and restrooms. It is recommended that participants bring their own equipment to play. Equipment such as tennis rackets, tennis balls and pickleball rackets are available initially, but on a limited basis.

The University Recreation Department is a major campus-wide service unit of the Division of Student Affairs. University Recreation’s mission is to empower students to succeed through recreation and wellness.
